little lights -- a modern communities shop
the stripey fabric is just gorgeous. are you buying fabric or reusing old stuff?
a little of both. his backing is felt which ive had, but i bought that fabric. ive been using a lot of my grandmothers quilting fabric for most of them, and just picking up fat quarters of fabrics as i see them.
i wish you had some of the stories behind the fabric from your grandma. it would be cool to include a little story/history with each bird
some of them i know, like a lot of material she just cut up after a shirt had worn out... mostly though i think she inherited a lot of fabric from My great grandma, so many of the swatches are at least 50 years old if not older, which is amazing.
thats so awesome! do you think youll ever make a quilt? ive always wanted to make/have one made
i have so many quilts of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers (i even have the ones my greatgrandma made my father when he was first born) that i am intimidated to make one myself. they are true pieces of art and i think i will make one someday, but i think it will take a while for me to get there, you know what i mean? they just carry so much meaning, something sacred, to me right now.
oh i couldnt agree more. ive got some that my great grandmother made too and they are just totally sacred. you can see aug laying on one in this icon.
oh thought you might like to look at this link. it just makes me drool over some of the ideas!
he DEF. looks like a JACKSON.
he has such personality!
oh oh amanda i want to buy a little owl!!
Okay Jackson is my favorite yet!
i saw him sitting on my pants this morning and picked up,big ones would be great, even had a little heft to it! i've got a couple ideas myself and tonight, routine as usual,at least for a little time i want you working on birds!
if jackson doesn't have a home yet I'd love to have him come stay with me. or perhaps there might be another brown striped generation oming soon. either way let me know
he has a home but i have more of that material and can make you your own ;)
eeeeeeeee! can't wait. what are you getting for such nice work? with shipping and all
8-12 dollars, whatever you can afford. sliding scale, sort of!
back at the original thread. I got your reply. First of all, THANK YOU! I was not looking forward to picking for him, and your work speaks right to my good senses, so how can it be a miss?
My thoughts are to send you a $30 postal money order to your Valley Ridge adress. The envelope will also contain a card for Robbir to travel with Jackson to his home. I'm estimating $15 will cover global priority, if not, please send it at standard shipping. I'd like the remaining $15 to be payment for Jackson III. So please don't pay more than $15 for the shipping. All things having gone well, please keep any remaining change for your trouble. Istill feel bad after sending you those stamps only to gear that days later the price of stamps had gone up ; (
Oh well, anyway I'll enclose his sending address and any particulars I've forgotten. Please feel free to contact me at 361.542.1215 if you have any questions, etc. Thanks again. I'll check email tomorrow to confirm you've received this.
AllMYBEST to you and the gang!!!!
tre, i got your mail yesterday! i will wrap jackson III up & Ship him off tomorrow.
Does Jackson have a home?
I need some light in my life right now and he would do wonders for my sleepless nights.
